Ghanaian actress Emelia Brobbey has won an award at the 2019 Zulu African Film Academy Awards (ZAFAA) held on Sunday, November 24, 2019.
At the awards ceremony held in Abuja in Nigeria, Emelia Brobbey was adjudged the Best Actor Female (Indigenous).
Emelia won the award with the role she played in the ‘Asantewaa’ movie.
She beat fellow Ghanaian stars Ellen Kyei White and Queen Sabby Debrah to win the award
Emelia Brobbey announced the win in a video sighted on social media which has been by YEN.com.gh.
"I won BEST ACTOR INDIGENOUS FEMALE at the just ended ZAFAA AWARDS NIGERIA Thanks a lot to God and to ZAFAA Global Awards (African Film and Academy Awards) in Nigeria for this Awards am most grateful.
To the producer and the entire crew of ASANTEWAA movie, Evander Kwame Agyeman, All industry players, the media ,MY lovely and wonderful fans and you all Lots of love from QUEENEMM❣️ Emelia Brobbey love you all. Asantewaa movie will be premiering soon. @zafaaglobal @evanderkwameagyeman," she wrote.
Zulu African Film Academy Awards, also known as Zafaa Global Awards, is an annual ceremony that rewards African films in the diaspora. It has been held in London, United Kingdom since its inaugural edition in 2006.
Meanwhile, the actress has shown her versatility as an entertainer after foraying into music with the release of her first song.
Emelia's song titled Fame Kɔ was released on Tuesday, November 12, 2019.
