A 29-year-old Medical student named Muhammed Musah at the University of Health and Allied Sciences has been diagnosed with a chronic health condition and needs an urgent kidney transplant.

According to an official medical report issued from the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Musah is suffering from end-stage renal disease and is currently being sustained on maintenance chronic hemodialysis.

The letter was signed by Dr Atik Adam who is the Nephrologist-In-Charge Dialysis. According to Dr Atik, the maintenance procedure is administered three times a week, with each costing ¢300. This sends the figure to ¢900 every week.

The final treatment of the medical condition is a kidney transplant. The cost of the transplant is estimated to average at $30,000 which is currently about ¢170,000 with the current exchange rate of 5.66 to the dollar.

CelebritiesBuzz reports that unfortunately for the student doctor, he has no older siblings as he is the firstborn who has been fighting to be the breadwinner of the family.

This follows the demise of his father in 2018, who died of diabetes. When preparations were being made for the father's funeral, his mother was involved in a tragic accident which has made her permanently disabled.

The cost to fly Mohammed, and possibly a close relative kidney donor, medical procedure, and pre and post-transplant care estimated at $75,000.

It would be recalled that YEN.com.gh earlier had earlier reported that a 22-year-old man suffered a terrible experience of a small pimple growing into a big tumour and needed urgent financial assistance.

The unfortunate victim, who was also called Musah, presumed it was a normal pimple when the growth started close to his eyes.
