Lady ‘fights’ for Ghana; insists American DJ plays Ghanaian music before she leaves him (video)

A Ghanaian broadcaster has been sighted in the US doing her best to get a DJ to play Ghanaian songs at Macy Mall in New York.

In a video sighted by, the lady, popularly known as Cookieteegh, walks into Macy Mall and realizes that the DJ in that mall was playing lots of Nigerian songs and nothing from Ghana.

Cookieteegh, who is also a media personality, walked straight to the DJ and insisted that he plays some Ghanaian songs.

She suggested that the DJ who gave his name as DJ Impact played Kwesi Arthur's 'Anthem' or Stonebwoy's 'Sugar'.

Though the DJ did not have any Ghanaian track on his playlist, Cookieteegh who is known in real life as Shirley Emma Tibilla, insisted that the DJ finds and plays any Ghanaian song before she moved.

The DJ later found Kwesi Arthur's Anthem and played it twice as Cookieteegh jammed to the song.

The DJ vowed to purchase lots of Ghanaian songs so that he will add to his playlist and play at the Mall.

What Cookieteegh did can be considered a big win for the Ghanaian music industry. She took it upon herself to ensure that at least a Ghanaian song was played at the Mall before she left.

After being persuaded to play Kwesi Arthur's Anthem, DJ impact vowed to purchase a lot of Ghanaian songs online so that we will be able to play them at the mall in New York.

The video was captioned "Ghanaian Media Personality @cookieteegh doing the most for Ghana Music far away in New York.

The TV Presenter heard a DJ playing music from Nigeria and other parts of the world at a mall in New York. She confronted the DJ if he has any Ghanaian song and this is what happened."
