Damongo: Fulani herdsman drowns in 1D1F dam

A Fulani herdsmen who went with their cattle to drink water from a one-village-one-dam project in Sori No1, a community in the West Gonja district of the Savannah Region drowned and died in the dam.

The 22-year-old Fulani herdsman identified as Garba Mamadu reportedly drowned in an uncompleted dam.

YEN.com.gh freelance reporter, Lansah Muniru indicated that the deceased drowned in an attempt to swim to the other side of the river bank with his cattle and younger brother, Aliu Mamadu.

Assemblyman for the area, Hon. Seidu A Fuseini made a complaint at the Damongo Police Command who in turn, went to the scene to ascertain the truth of the matter.

They inspected the body with a nurse and released the body to the family for burial.

The deceased has since been buried in accordance with Islamic customs.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced that it has started an enlistment for new personnel into Regular Career and Short Service Commission Officers.

According to a statement released and signed by director of public relations of the GAF, Commander A. La-Anyane, the scratch cards for the online application are on sale across the country at a fee of GHC 50.

The GAF gave the online portal for the application process is www.gafrecruitment.com. The closing date for the online submission is December 17, 2019.
