The respected traditional leader further urged all his chiefs and sub-chiefs in the Akyem Abuakwa area to also forget and totally forgive the distasteful statement made against him by the NDC Ashanti Regional Secretary, Kwame Zu.
In September 2019, Mr Kwame Zu suggested that the Okyenhene shared drinking water with animals until the intervention of then-President John Dramani Mahama.
His comments irked the youth and chiefs of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Authority, leading to a ban placed on the NDC party and Kwame Zu not to step foot in the area until an apology and pacification were offered.
On Thursday, December 5, 2019, the NDC led by its national chairman Ofosu Ampofo, Kwame Zu and a high-powered delegation including Ambassador Victor Smith, Betty Mould-Iddrisu, Antwi Gyamfi among other regional and constituency executives of the Abuakwa South Constituency, went to apologise over Mr Zu's comments.
The Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin thus forgave Kwame Zu and the NDC after the apology and pacification.
He also advised Kwame Zu to show respect to the elders and do his politics without insulting traditional leaders and the elders.
