According to the survey none of the two main political parties will be able to get the required 50% plus one vote to win the elections.
But responding to the CDD Afrobarometer report, NDC’s National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, said on Joy News that the survey result is a plus for the party.
He however, added that he is confident the NDC will win the 2020 elections should it go to the run-off. He stated the NDC has beaten the NPP anytime there was a run-off in the presidential elections.
“And you know since the start of the Fourth Republic [26 years ago] the incumbent has never won an election in a run-off,” the young lawyer said.
On his part, Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, noted that government has nothing to worry about regarding the findings of the Afrobarometer survey.
He said the NPP will request for the full report, for their perusal.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah however expressed delight in the part of the report that states Ghanaians have low trust in the opposition NDC.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that telecommunications giant, MTN Ghana has been fined by the National Communications Authority, for failing to comply by the regulator’s directive to produce a full report on the recent technical challenges that it faced.
According to the NCA, MTN disregarded its directives hence the decision to fine the mobile network operator.
