Mother abandons twins at children's hospital in Accra

A mother has abandoned her twins at the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital in Accra on Friday, December 6, 2019.

According to an eyewitness who narrated the incident to JoyNews, the mother of the kids left them in the care of another woman at the hospital, to go and use the washroom but never returned.

“… their mother left them with a woman who had come to visit her sister,” the eyewitness narrated.

According to the Jamestown Police they are conducting investigations into the matter.

The Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital management also said the children who are about a year old were neither on admission nor were there for medical care, according to their records.

The hospital however, indicated they will send the children to the Osu Children’s Home on Monday, December 9.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that on the occasion of the 35th Farmers’ Day celebrations, December 6, 2019, President Nana Akufo-Addo expressed his appreciation to farmers and fisherfolk for their hard work and dedication to the cause of building Ghana over the period.
