Former president John Dramani Mahama has assured journalists of his full support and protection should he win power in election 2020.

According to the NDC flagbearer, his government will not hound or kill any journalist who exposes corruption under his presidency.
In a message to mark International Anti-Corruption Day, Mr Mahama opined that an NDC government will not make excuses in the fight against corruption.

“We shall protect the rights of our people to expose corruption and undertake to investigate credible allegations that come to our attention. “No journalist will be killed, live in fear or flee the country because of their investigative reporting,” he promised.
He also stated that his government will strengthen and make anti-corruption agencies work without fear or favor.

John Mahama added that government must not been seen or heard making excuses as a coverup for the increasing cases of corruption in Ghana.
“President Akufo-Addo's practice of ‘clearing’ corrupt appointees and hampering investigations must stop,” he added.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has catalogued 87 major achievements of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that Ghanaians should judge and compare the Akufo-Addo-led government with the erstwhile Mahama administration.
According to the vice president, when it come to a debate of facts and figures, he is convinced the NDC will fall flat and have nothing to show to Ghanaians.
