Story of popular traffic warden Awudu Tijani premiered at Silverbird

Information available to shows that a documentary about the life of a now deceased traffic warden, Awudu Tijani, was premiered at the Silverbird Cinema.

Tijani passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019 and until his demise, was known to a myriad of people who saw him direct traffic in the heart of Accra.

YMCA Ghana,, SLADEA, NAEAL, the University of Gambia, CNA Togo and Xchange Perspectives, with financial support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, teamed up to premier the story of Tijani’s life on November 29, 2019 after the film was made in June the same year.

In other news, has learned that the chief of Tinga in the Bole district in the Savannah region, Francis Tipoe, has been murdered as he sat down to watch television in the evening of Saturday, December 7, 2019.

Information available suggests that he had just finished a meal and had sat down to watch programmes on television when an unidentified person shot him through a window.

Sharing the details of the incident, the deceased’s brother, Issah Bala, said the gunshot hit the chief and killed him instantly.

Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem on Monday, December 9, 2019, he added that “the gunmen shot through the window; initially we thought he had shot himself till we later realized that he had been shot through the window.”
