Ghana’s Auditor-General, Daniel Yaw Domelevo has recently been acknowledged by the Ghana Integrity Initiative as the Integrity Personality of the Year.

Domelovo’s award is in recognition of his unrelenting and sole efforts in fighting corruption and helping in retrieving monies.

But following the Ghana Integrity Initiative’s (GII) recognition of the Auditor-General, NPP stalwart and cousin of the President Akufo-Addo, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, questioned why Daniel Yaw Domelevo will be touted for saving the state only Ghc60m.

He opined the bar for the Ghana Integrity Award has been set “far too low” for Ghana’s Auditor General.

“… if saving the nation “GHS60m” is what qualifies a public servant or a patriot to win then I can think of several ministers, CEOs, media houses (journalists), civil society groups, who have done much more and saved the nation more. The bar is far too low,” Gabby posted on his Facebook.

But YEN.com.gh can categorically state that the Auditor-General has saved Ghana more than the Ghc60m Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko is claiming.

In 2018, President Akufo-Addo acknowledged the huge savings that the Auditor-General has made to Ghana.

He noted in his state of the nation address in 2018 that Mr. Domelevo has identified a staggering amount of GH¢5.4 billion as constituting fictitious claims.

To this end, YEN.com.gh can state that the AG has saved Ghana more than the Ghc60m figure making rounds.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in collaboration with Transplant Links UK has performed Kidney transplantation for four patients with kidney failures.

The feat was announced on the official Facebook page of the renowned hospital.
