Ghanaian Dancehall act J Derobie has bagged his first-ever award.

The Empawa Africa Music signee, was adjudged the Best Male Raggae/Dancehall video award at the just ended 3RD TV Music Video Awards 2019.

J Derobie, known in real life as Derrick Oboubie Jnr, came into the scene in 2018 with his 'Poverty' hit song and has been making waves ever since.

He was nominated in the same category with the likes of KK Fosu, Ras Kuuku, Samini, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy among others.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that award-winning rapper and singer, Kofi Kinaata has gained major recognition this year with his 'Things Fall Apart' hit song.

Kinaata's 'Things Fall Apart' song came up during the Supreme Court vetting of Justice Gertrude Torkonoo.

A great fan of Kofi Kinaata, Joseph Cudjoe, Member of Parliament for Effia Constituency asked a question about the 'Things Fall Apart' hit song.

The 'Things Fall Apart' hit song speaks about the hypocritical nature of Ghanaians in the religious circles.

After Justice Gertrude Torkonoo had expressed her love for evangelism and the Christian faith and values, Mr. Cudjoe wanted to know her views on the popular song.
