Jerry Rawlings failed his promotion exams 5 times in the army - Boakye Gyan

Retired military officer, Major Boakye-Djan has revealed that former president Jerry John Rawlings failed his promotion examination to become a Flight Lieutenant five times.

According to Major Boakye Gyan he had to assist Jerry Rawlings as a chief examiner to pass his promotional exams.

Speaking on an array of issues concerning the National Democratic Congress (NDC) founder, Major Boakye Gyan indicated further that he did what he did because he did not want the former president to be sacked from the army.

Like he would have failed woefully. Rawlings at the time had failed promotional exams for six years in a row and because of that his salaries had declined and he nearly got sacked from the army because he dropped somebody’s aircraft on the motorway," Major Boakye Gyan told Adakabre Frimpong Manso on Accra-based Neat FM on Monday, November 9, 2019.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Osahene Boakye Gyan has made a damning allegation against former president Jerry John Rawlings.

According to the ex-soldier, the former president killed and drowned one of his closest lieutenants, Flt. Lt. Kojo Lee.
