Anthony Osarfo: Ghanaian screenwriter wins Hollywood Blood Horror Festival 2019 contest

Having nurtured the art of scriptwriting, Ghanaian entertainment journalist and critic, Anthony Osarfo, is on a journey to make a strong statement with his writing.

Citinewsroom.com reports that Anthony Osarfo's carefully learned skill is known only to his close associates, but he is set to storm Hollywood as a screenwriter.

In an industry (Hollywood) that is saturated with top-drawer writers, Anthony Osarfo has proved his worth after winning for himself, ‘Best Original Screenplay’ with his supernatural-horror feature screenplay titled ‘Honor Janet.'

According to Osarfo, the inspiration behind the story and the title of the screenplay came from the life stories and first name of his mother, wife, and mother-in-law; who are all called Janet.

''I weaved the stories of these great women in my life together, added fiction, and came out with this mind-boggling screenplay titled 'Honor Janet' I have a lot to share, but I will not spoil the surprise just yet. I reserve that for another day,'' Anthony Osarfo said.

According to Citinewsroom.com, the Ghanaian talent has also placed in other eminent screenplay contests like; Finalist – Oregon Scream Week Horror Film Festival (November 8, 2019) — Finalist with an Honorable Mention – Creepy Tree Film Festival (November 30, 2019) – 100 Top Scripts Awardee — Capital Fund Screenplay Competition (July 1, 2019). He looks forward to more awards in the coming years.
