Hollywood actress Lupita Nyong'o nominated for the enviable Screen Actors Guild award

Kenyan born queen Lupita Nyong'o has for another time made the country proud after her nomination in the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG).

The SAG nominees were announced on Wednesday, December 11, at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles.

An elated Lupita took to her Instagram to share the great news to her fans with a video of herself screaming.

"When I heard the SAG awards news! Thank you to my fellow actors. I’m honoured to have made your cut!" she wrote.

The aim of the awards is to give recognition to actors who did amazing work and to show them that they are appreciated.

Other nominees for awards include talented artistes such as Jharrel Jerone and Jamie Foxx among others.

YEN.com.gh learnt Lupita Nyong’o was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a leading role for the movie Us.

She will be battling it out with Cynthia Erivo, Scarlett Johansson, Charlize Theron and Renée Zellweger.

The 26th annual SAG Awards will take place on January 2020 and will be presented by Leonardo DiCaprio at the Shrine Auditorium.

Pageantry in a long while has been met with criticism which has made the organisers make some changes in recent years, one of which is the elimination of the swimsuit competition at Miss America among others.
