2020 is the year of roads - President Akufo-Addo declares

His Excellency President Akufo-Addo has revealed his agenda for constructing roads coming next year

President Akufo-Addo has declared 2020 a year that he will undertake massive road projects in the country.

According to the first man of Ghana, he will make sure most of the deteriorated roads will be fixed massively.

In an encounter with YEN.com.gh and other media houses, President Akufo-Addo expressed commitment to building roads in 2020.

"When I go on tour, one complains that almost every chief tells me is about their bad roads," he revealed.

"2020 is a year of roads. Even though I cannot do all the roads, I will be investing huge cash in getting Ghana's roads motorable," he added.

The president admitted that there are a lot of bad roads hindering the development and progress of the country.

He disclosed that touring the country has provided him with first-hand information on the bad status of our roads.

President Akufo-Addo blamed the NDC government, claiming that his government came to meet very bad roads.

"Irrespective of the bad roads we inherited, I am going to invest a lot in roads coming 2020" he reiterated.

He referred to the 2020 budget, noting that a lot has been committed to paying contractors so they could construct good roads across the country.

The president announced that a numerous number of roads have already been awarded to contractors.

Prior to the 2020 elections, President Akufo-Addo promised to fix roads that have deteriorated across the country.

He admitted that roads constitute a lot to the progress and development of the country, thus he was committed to achieving a lot when it comes to roads.
