Residents and businesses in Accra and its environs should expect power cuts from Monday, December 16 to December 20, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced.
According to the ECG, the power cuts will allow the company’s engineers to undertake some emergency maintenance.
The ECG communique further stated that residents of the affected areas will be without light for seven hours each day from the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m
Some of the areas in the capital to be affected are; Taifa, Dzorwulu, Kwabenya, Valley View, Oyibi, Teshie,Sowutuom, Achobo Best, Peace FM, Santana Market, Baah Yard, Masalachi, Awoshie, A Lang, Nsawam, Gbawe, Mallam, Dzorwulu, Abelenkpe, Plant Pool and Dimples will be cut off.
The rest are; Katapor, Fise, Borkorborkor, Manhean, Oduman, CP, Joma, Agape Down, SSNIT, Red Top, Ajaco, Ayigbe Town, SCC, Old Barrier, Choice, Katamanso, Madina Borteyman and Caprice.
ECG says after the maintenance, residents should expect improved service delivery.
“ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” a statement issued Sunday, December 15 noted.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the rank and file, as well as leaders of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been urged to unite in prayer to win political power from the governing New Patriotic Party.
The call was made by flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama on Saturday, December 14 at the funeral of the late Victoria Adzo Adzagli-Ametefee, wife of Mr Henry Ametefee, Volta Regional Chairman of NDC.
