Honorable Aponkye heads to Supreme Court to contest election results

Defeated assemblyman aspirant for the Adukrom Nima Electoral Area in the Ashanti region, Nana Adabor Ibrahim Isaah Ampim, popularly known as Honorable Aponkye is heading to the Supreme Court to challenge the election results.

Honorable Aponkye suspects that the election on his constituency was rigged hence his decision to go to court to seek redress.

He made this known in an interview on Joy News which was monitored by YEN.com.gh.

Though the final collated results of the Electoral Commission showed that he was beaten by Abdul Rashid who polled 1,056 representing 40%, Honorable Aponkye claims the results collated by his agents showed he won with a one-touch victory.

The certified results from the EC showed that Honorable Aponkye polled 234 votes, representing 9% of the total votes cast.

However Honorable Aponkye is said to have started granting media interviews after he won in only one polling station -which happened to be his stronghold- and jubilating only for reality to set in for him that he had lost miserably

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the Ghanaian aspiring assemblyman went viral quite recently after giving some mind-blowing promises to his constituency members prior to the Assembly’s election.

According to the aspiring Assembly Member for Adukrom Nima electoral area in the Ashanti Region, he would provide free breakfast for his people every day till the end of his tenure in office.
