Elsie Muchemedzi, a 20-year-old university student who was studying at the University of Zimbabwe has taken her own life after her boyfriend left her for another girl.

The boy whose name is indicated by Mynewsghana.net as Albert left Elsie after finding another girl that was more 'suitable' to him.

Beautiful Elsie, who could not stand the pain of having Albert leave her, decided to end it all as she bought some pesticide and swallowed it.

She was discovered alive and was clearly interrogated by her parents. Elsie revealed during the questioning that she could not stand the pain which was why she decided to do what she did.

Attempts were made to save her life but it all went down the drain as Elsie Muchemedzi later died at a hospital named the West End Hospital. It is not known how Albert has received the news and if he continues with his new girlfriend.

Reports indicate that Elsie's university has had increasing cases of students losing hope in life and attempting to end their existence.

The University of Zimbabwe has said that it has instituted a number of programs to curb the increasing number of suicide cases.

Sadly, Elsie's story is not the only one in which a lady has lost her life in an unfortunate turn of events.

Not long ago, YEN.com.gh reported that the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital in Mampong Akuapem in the Eastern Region recorded a loss of life over perceived unavailability of an ambulance.

A news report indicated that the nurses at the hospital where the incident happened revealed that they needed an ambulance to convey the patient to a referred hospital for treatment to be carried on.

According to the nurses, the only ambulance that was available was faulty, preventing them from transporting the victim to the Eastern Region Hospital in Koforidua.
