An agitated man has severely disciplined his wife after learning she butchered the only chicken reserved for Chrismas day.

Peter Kadama had spent his hard-earned money to buy the bird with instructions that it be reserved for the big day but was perplexed to find out the love of his life had already turned it into a meal a week before the D-Day.

Overcome by emotions and bitterness, the 50-year-old Ugandan national did not withstand the disappointment and instantly descended on his wife with blows and kicks that left her hopelessly languishing in pain, Daily Mirror reported.

"The man kicked and whipped the wife severely leaving her for dead. The woman is currently receiving medical treatment at Budaka Health Centre IV," said Joseph Gadimba, a local information official.

Gadimba said the local leadership only ordered the man to take care of the medical bill of his wife and the matter was never reported to the police.

Elders from both sides are expected to meet to discuss the matter and find a solution that will reunite the couple.

This will, however, only happen after the wife has fully recovered and discharged from the hospital.

"Once the woman recovers, her relatives from Kapyani-Kasasira in Kibuku District are expected to hold a meeting with their in-law to establish the cause of the assault to their daughter and resolve the matter," explained Gadimba.

A similar event happened during a wedding ceremony that ended rather fatal. YEN.com.gh reported that Joe Steven Melgoza, a 30-year-old man was beaten at his wedding reception by unknown men and lost his life as a result.
