President Nana Akufo-Addo on Monday, December 23, 2019 handed over 100 vehicles to the Ghana Police Service to improve the force's operational capability and provide security for Ghanaians.

The move is in fulfilment of a commitment made by the President earlier to provide the Service the needed equipment and logistics to enable it discharge its duty effectively.
At a short ceremony at the Police Headquarters in Accra, Akufo-Addo said his administration is committed to build an impeccable Police Force.

He also said the 100 vehicles was his Christmas gift to the Service.
President Akufo-Addo also noted that his government is committed to ensuring the safety and security of Ghanaians.
“I presented one hundred (100) more vehicles to the Ghana Police Service to augment their fleet, and also as my Christmas gift to the Service,” he posted on Facebook.
Nana Addo finally added that when the NPP came into office the Ghana Police Service had a total of 458 serviceable vehicles.

But was quick to add that his government has now increased the fleet for the police. “As of today, my Government has added a total of 678 more vehicles to their fleet.”
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that identical twins, Lydia and Linda Awui have called on former president Jerry John Rawlings 20-years after he helped saved their lives.
The twins, who were born conjoined at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in 1999 were offered support by the then President of the Republic, Jerry Rawlings to ensure their medical bills for the procedure was taken care of.
