Ghanaian police officers steal €7,000 from Italian couple during a search

An Italian couple, Daniele Migfiorisi and Ferien Oklomode have accused four Ghana Police personnel of stealing their €7,000 while conducting a search on them.

According to the couple, the policemen stopped the cab they were traveling to the airport in at Salvation Army in Osu for a search on Monday, December 23, 2019.

The couple narrated that, the officers then ordered the driver of the taxi to drive towards the Osu Police Station for alcohol test.

After roaming with the couple in Osu township for a while, the police officers rescinded the decision to conduct the test and left them,” a police report obtained by DailyMailGh.com said.

It added: “Soon thereafter, the couple detected that cash of 7000.00 Euros had been stolen from his bag placed at where No. 46165 G/L/Cpl Amos Dery sat.”

Meanwhile, the Osu Police command say the officers are being investigated.

The four accused police officers are Cpl Amos Dery of Osu Motorbike patrols, Cpl Morgan Adjierah of RCID, Cpl John Alaldago of Bravo Rover Unit and Const. Lawson K.  Makafui of Mounted Squadron.
