A fan of Kumasi Asante Kotoko is feared dead after being shot by police following the Porcupine Warriors' clash with Berekum Chelsea on Sunday, January 12, 2020.
According to Ghansoccernet.com, the supporter who was wearing a Kotoko jersey club collapsed on the floor after being shot.
In a video making rounds on social media, the victim could be seen lying on the floor with blood oozing out from his stomach area.
Some supporters who were around rushed to help the injured man before lifting him to be taken to the Komfo Anokye hospital where several accounts claim he was dead on arrival.
Other supporters who also witnessed the event could be heard saying in Twi that the fan had been killed by the police
Kotoko were shocked 1-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi in their Ghana Premier League Week 3 encounter.
Furious over decisions of the referee, Charles Bulu, in their match against some supporters started rioting by throwing stones and sachet water at the match officials.
A section of the supporters even tried to force a gate to the pitch open before security officials intervened to stop them.
It was during the crowd control after the match that the police fired rubber bullets to ward off supporters who were trying to get the referee.
