Year of Return: Beyoncé's mother arrives in Ghana; spotted dancing 'adowa' (Video)

YEN.com.gh has sighted a video of Tina Knowles, mother of American singer, Beyoncé Knowles at the Kotota International Airport dancing to the tune of drums upon her arrival in Ghana.

Tina looked quite excited as this happens to be her first time in Ghana just like some American celebrities who have also arrived in Ghana, as part of the Year of Return event, which has seen a lot of patronage from many African-Americans and other diasporans.

According to reports, the 65-year-old would be making an appearance at the AfroNation concert scheduled to take place in Accra.

She is an American businesswoman and fashion designer known for her House of Deréon and Miss Tina by Tina Knowles fashion brands.

She is the mother of singers Beyoncé and Solange Knowles, and was previously married, until 2011, to Mathew Knowles, the manager of Destiny’s Child as well as Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that American rapper and actor Ludacris, known in private life as Christopher Brian Bridges, has arrived in Ghana as part of the Year of Return celebrations.

It is not yet known when Ludacris arrived in Ghana but he has already paid a visit to the Cape Coast Castle where the first slaves from West Africa were transported from.

Popular American rapper, songwriter and entrepreneur Rick Ross has also arrived in Ghana ahead of his performance at the Detty Rave Concert in Accra, YEN.com.gh can report.

The 43-year-old celebrity touched down at the Kotoka International Airport on Saturday, December 26, 2019, and was welcomed by scores of enthusiastic fans and media personnel.

Rick Ross' arrival in Ghana forms part of Ghana's Year of Return event, which has seen a lot of patronage from many African-Americans, people from the Carribean and other diasporans.
