- American celebrity Akon has arrived in Ghana for Year of Return

Popular Senegalese-American singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, philanthropist and actor Akon has touched down in Ghana.
The world-renowned celebrity whose full name is Aliaune Damala Bouga Time Puru Nacka Lu Lu Lu Badara Akon Thiam made this known in a recent post on his official Instagram handle.
Akon post indicated he was in Accra, Ghana according to the location that was shown along with the picture he took.

Akon has been very passionate about Africa and its exploits which makes it no surprise that he decided to touch down to mark the Year of Return.
Not long ago, YEN.com.gh mentioned that the prominent American-born star with Senegalese roots, Akon, has assured diasporas now is a good time to invest in Ghana and other African countries because it’s viable with guaranteed returns.
Less recently, it came out that Akon has started to construct a 2000-acre city in Senegal.
The city is to be built to run solely on renewable energy among other unique features. The Akon City, also known as 'Wakanda' is expected to be completed after a duration of 10 years.
Akon appears to be having a great time in Ghana as he indicated under the picture that Africa needs to be as simple as what he has experienced so far.
"Why can't Africa just be this simple?" he asked
The Year of Return has seen lots of superstars thronging Ghana. Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Lupita, who is known for the popular role she played in the 'Black Panther' movie, is said to have come into the country secretly.
She did not get the usual rousing welcome given to other celebrities who touch base at Kotoka International Airport and pass by the Year of Return secretariat but she was spotted in Ghana.
