In other news, YEN.com.gh has learned that a veteran footballer, Victoria Conteh, has been appointed as the coach of the East End Tigers Football Club.

Information available shows that she is the second woman to manage a top-flight male football team in Africa.

Meseret Manni, of Ethiopia, who coached Dire Dawa in 2015, is on record as the first woman to play such a role.

Per a report by BBC News Africa, Conteh describes her appointment as a wonderful opportunity, a shocker and a perfect Christmas gift.

She revealed that she was called for the role during her time with the police when training with the Delta first division team.

According to her, the owner of the club, Victor Louis, reached out to her and she accepted the offer.

Conteh states that the team has welcomed her as a mother and a sister and it was no surprise they drew 1:1 in their first match.

In her opinion, African countries need to learn from the management of the club who gave her the opportunity.
