Get a career before delving into politics – Osei Adutwum advises youth

The Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has underscored the need for the Ghanaian youth to secure a career for themselves before entering into politics.

According to the deputy education minister, politics should not be a career but a place where one would serve his country to the best of his or her ability.

He made this known while speaking at the 2020 Pentecost Students Association (PENSA) Ghana conference in the Central Region.

“I don’t see politics as an end in itself, I see politics as a means to an end and that is why recently I advised students at the University of Cape Coast that you have to have a career first before you think about politics.
I don’t think politics should be a career it should be a place of service, going there to use the talent God has given to you to the benefit of humankind. And that is when you get satisfaction.”

Service to the nation he said, helped shape the nation and also satisfaction is derived.

In other news, former president Jerry John Rawlings has revealed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) under the leadership of Akufo-Addo has plans to establish a bank - National Development Bank.

According to him, the bank that would be set up by the NPP would be purposely for the selfish gains of the political party.

Speaking at the commemoration of the 31st December 1981 Movement in Winneba, Rawlings noted that this alleged bank, when established, would cripple existing banks.
