Ghanaian young man suffering cancer-related disease needs GHC35K for urgent surgery (photos)

A young man identified as Lawrence Gedzah, who has been diagnosed with Parotid Gland Cancer needs GHC35,000 ($6,000) to undergo urgent medical surgery in India.

Parotid gland cancer is a disease in which malignant or cancer cells form in the tissues of the salivary glands and being exposed to certain types of radiation may increase the risk of salivary cancer.

Lawrence Gedzah, who was diagnosed with the disease has since been on medication at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for the past one year and currently requires financial aid to undergo treatment.

The situation of the ailing young man has been worsening without the required medical procedure and treatment.

Gedzah's heart-breaking story has garnered some attention on social media and notable Ghanaian journalist, Nana Aba Anamoah, joined in the campaign to raise the 6,000 dollar amount for Lawrence Gedzah

In a related story, YEN.com.gh previously reported that a 21-year-old lady, simply identified as Gloria, who has been suffering a genetic disorder along with severe seizures within five-minute intervals for the past three months requires GHC 10,000 to undergo treatment.

Gloria, who has been bed-ridden by her condition, has been suffering consistent attacks resulting from the genetic disorder.

A video of the 21-year-old lady has been shared online in an effort to solicit financial aid.
