YEN.com.gh has learned that a fire outbreak in the Ashanti region has destroyed 17 stores.
The incident occurred at Asokwa Tunsuom on Monday, January 6, 2020, and properties worth thousands of cedis were destroyed.
Per a report by pulse.com.gh, even though the shops were completely burnt, a Bible was the only thing that escaped the destruction of the fire.
People present were surprised when the Bible was pulled out of the debris.
Some of the stores destroyed were provision shops, a book shop, a pharmacy and others made of freight containers.
Firefighters from Bekwai and Fomena helped quench the fire before it could spread to other structures or items.
According to the Bekwai Municipal Fire Commander, Amos Abban, no lives were lost and investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
In other news, YEN.com.gh has learned that an unidentified man has returned a MacBook he stole from a lady.
In a video that went viral, the man and the woman are seen close to a vehicle, which was identified as a Hyundai Elantra with registration number GS-2671-18.
After a few minutes of discussions, the man opens the driver’s side of the car, sits in the seat and pretends to open the passenger side for the lady.
However, in an unexpected twist of events, he suddenly shuts his door and drives away from the scene.
A Twitter user, known as @KwadwoBonnah1, who shared a video of the incident there, returned with good news the next day.
According to him, social media users teamed up to help find the man, who had no option than to return the MacBook.
