American media executive and philanthropist, Oprah Winfrey has denied helping Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on leaving their posts as senior members of the royal family.
Winfrey said it is false that she was the first person the couple spoke to about their departure, adding that Harry and Meghan do not need her help figuring what is best for them, Daily Mail reports.
Oprah said she cares about the couple and is in support of whatever decision they make for their family.
A source said: "Oprah was the first person to talk to Harry and Meghan about breaking free and doing their own thing, building on their own brand. She made them realise it was really possible."
But the media executive said: "Meghan and Harry do not need my help figuring out what’s best for them.
"I care about them both and support whatever decisions they make for their family."
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Wednesday, January 8, announced that they would step back as senior members of the royal family.
According to the couple, they will now work to become financially independent.
