American media executive and philanthropist, Oprah Winfrey has denied helping Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on leaving their posts as senior members of the royal family.

Winfrey said it is false that she was the first person the couple spoke to about their departure, adding that Harry and Meghan do not need her help figuring what is best for them, Daily Mail reports.

Oprah said she cares about the couple and is in support of whatever decision they make for their family.

A source said: "Oprah was the first person to talk to Harry and Meghan about breaking free and doing their own thing, building on their own brand. She made them realise it was really possible."
