Things fall apart as Imam finds out that his newly-wedded wife is a man

- Mohammed Mutumba, an imam in Uganda has unknowingly married another man for 2 weeks

- The supposed wife called Swabullah Nabukeera's gender was revealed at a police station after a theft he was engaged in

- According to Swabullah, he decided to get married to the imam to extort money

A Ugandan Imam by name Mohammed Mutumba who resides at Kyampisi Village in Kayunga Sub-County, Kayunga District, unknowingly married a man as his wife.

The wife who identified 'herself' as Swabullah Nabukeera was married to Mohammed Mutumba for two weeks before the truth of 'her' gender was revealed.

Monitor.co.ug indicates that the couple exchanged marriage vows in Islamic culture or Nikah (legal marriage contract between man and woman).

Reports indicate that the couple had not slept after they got married as the wedded wife gave an excuse that she was in her menstrual period.

The Imam of Kyampisi mosque who said he found Tumushabe at the Kyampisi mosque was understanding and decided to allow time for his wife to complete her period.

As they wait protracted, Mutumba’s neighbour complained to him that his newly wedded wife had jumped over a wall and stole their television set and clothes.

The incident was reported to the Kayunga Police Station where the 'lady' had to be sent to the lady's cell after a search.

The Kayunga District criminal investigations officer said:

“As the police’s normal practice, a female police officer, searched the suspect thoroughly before taking ‘her’ to the cells. However, to the shock of the officer, the suspect had stacked clothes in the bra to hoodwink that they were breasts".

“On further search, we discovered that the suspect had male organs. We quickly informed ‘her’ husband who had escorted her to the police station,” Mugera said.

The imam who was surprised by the developments narrated how he met his 'beautiful' love of his life.

“I was looking for a woman to marry and when I landed on a beautiful girl wearing a hijab, I asked her for love and she accepted. We fell in love, however, she told me we could not have sex until I take dowry to her parents and also exchange marriage vows,” a visibly shocked Mutumba narrated.

Swabullah Nabukeera, the supposed wife, said that he decided to fake being a lady and married to the imam, so he could extort money from him.

In other love news, a lady who has reported her relationship ordeals anonymously revealed that her boyfriend fled from their relationship after she pretended to be pregnant.

The lady made the shocking statements about how her boyfriend treated her to a popular Facebook relationship advisor by name Abena Magis Manokekame.

According to the young woman, she and her boyfriend started dating in May 2017 not long after she got a job and started receiving salaries, which was the beginning of all the trouble.
