Church accountant given 18-year jail sentence for stealing tithe and offering

- A former accountant of the Church of Brethren in Nigeria, Ibrahim Aku, has been handed an 18-year jail sentence after defrauded the church of N15.5 million (GHC242,705)

Ibrahim Aku, an accountant of the Church of Brethren in Nigeria has been given an 18-year jail sentence after he pleaded guilty to charges of forgery and obtaining money by false pretense.

YEN.com.gh gathers that Aku defrauded the church of N15.5 million which included monies he stole from offerings, donations and tithes between 2016 and 2018.

Reports confirm the convict was investigated and prosecuted following a petition by the church alleging that Aku defrauded the church of N15.5 million.

Following the investigations, Aku was charged with forgery and obtaining money by false pretense.

Aku pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 18 years in prison without an option of fine.

The former church accountant who was busted after presenting forged tellers as evidence of payment of money entrusted in his care was ordered to pay back the money as restitution to the church by a Federal High Court judge.

The Federal High Court judge also directed the anti-graft agency to sell the proceeds of the crime recovered during its investigation and remit the money to the church.

In other stories, YEN.com.gh reported that a video of a pretty young lady with a heavy backside that appears to challenge the bootylicious curves of American deejay and fitness nurse Jaye Love has popped up.

Although details about the lady are yet to be known, her video has already dominated some notable social media platforms.

Her video comes after American deejay, Jaye Love, safely left the country after she arrived in Ghana to take part in the activities marking the Year of Return.

Jaye Love trended for days on social media owing to her heavy backside.
