The Akufo-Addo administration has been trolled by the Ghanaian social media space for a very long time for having too many ministers.
Some Ghanaians believe that some of the ministers appointed by the President to man certain portfolios were of no use.
However, some of the ministers are doing a good job and should be maintained.
YEN.com.gh has compiled a list of certain ministers they believe should be retained by the president if he is voted to stay in power.
1. Minister for roads and highways
The roads minister, Kweku Amoako-Atta is one minister under the Akufo-Addo administration that should be maintained. YEN.com.gh believes that the minister has lived up to the words he said during his vetting and appointment. It could be recalled that the honorable minister promised that under his watch, no road contract would be sign, He also vowed that no appointee under his ministry be it Director would buy any car.
Ghanaians loved the minister the more when he ordered for the demolition of a building which according to him was sited at the wrong place.
2. Minister of Information
Information minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah by all standards should be maintained at the ministry when the president is voted to stay in power again. YEN.com.gh believes that the information minister has done a good job managing information at the ministry and also conveying government's policies.
3. Minister of Education
YEN.com.gh believes that the the deputy minister of education, Dr Yaw Adu-Twum should rather be maintained and made the main minister instead of Minister of Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh. Adu-Twum has been in the news for very good reasons and doesn't seen to have bad press.
Opoku Prempeh on the other hand, could be described as one of the worse education ministers the country has ever had. Under his watch, there were cases of unrest in UEW and KNUST.
4. Minister of Finance
Ghanaians believe that the minister of finance, Ken Ofori Atta should be maintained should the president be voted again to continue his mandate. Ghanaians believe he has done his best when it comes to managing the economy and cleaning the banking sector
5. Minister of tourism
The minister of tourism, Barbara Oteng Gyasi has been credited with the 2019 Year of Return which has been marked as a big success. According to Ghanaians, especially those in the creative art sector, her ministry did a good job organising and supporting such a successful and historic event.
