The Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has stated that the record of the Akufo-Addo government is unmatched since the beginning of the fourth republic.

According to Bawumia, the programme of economic recovery that the government put in place, upon it's assumption of office, has been significantly successful.

He made this comment at the ongoing consultative meeting of the National Council of Zongo Chiefs at Kyebi in the Eastern Region.

“If you look at the management of the economy under the leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo and compare it to the first term of any government since the fourth republic that is since 1992.

I can tell you in all humility and without any fear of contradiction that there is no government in the fourth republic that can match the record of achievement of Nana Akufo Addo,” Bawumia said

Bawumia also added that his assertion could be corroborated by data and challenged doubters to “bring anybody to contrary data.”

In other news, NPP stalwart and economist, Kwame Pianim is suggesting to Akufo-Addo led administration to print money to pay claims of depositors of the financial clean up.

According to the renowned economist, the printing of money by the central bank to pay depositors will not affect the economy or inflation.

“My suggestion was to have let the Bank of Ghana find a means to pay the affected customers even if it involved printing of money…We are making it difficult for the NPP to win this [2020] election,” he said in an interview with Citi News on Monday, January 21.
