Anthony Joshua accepts 50-50 split to fight winner of Fury vs Wilder

Anthony Joshua, world heavyweight champion, has reportedly agreed to equally share the purse in other to fight the winner of Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder fight.

Tyson and Wilder will go face-to-face again in another rematch showdown for the WBC belts officially scheduled for February 22, 2020, in Las Vega.

Wilder and Fury had their first fight in December 2018 and it resulted in a controversial split, with both sides emerging winners in grand style.

Ahead of the heavyweight showdown between Bronze Bomber and the Brit, Joshua has reportedly agreed to take up the winner of the Tyson and Wilder fight in Saudi Arabia.

Joshua reclaimed his heavyweight belts in style by totally outclassing Mexican champion Andy Ruiz on December 7 at Diriyah stadium in Saudi Arabia.

The victory, which came on unanimous point decision, saw Joshua win back his WBA, WBO and IBF belts.

With only WBC belt eluding the Nigerian-British born pugilist to become the unified heavyweight champion of the world, Joshua is willing to share purse with winner of the showdown in America.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has now hinted that his camp will give boxing fans the fight they want to see.

"We have to try and make that happen. Right now, the fight that Anthony Joshua wants is the winner of Wilder and Fury," Eddie said.

"We've been there before. Both guys have turned down 60-40 for that fight and now we have no other option, but to offer them 50-50, because the fight will never happen.

Eddie also said the fight, should it happen, will hold in Saudi Arabia because the oil-rich nation is willing to have the fight staged on their land.

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh had reported that Anthony Joshua has hit back at his critics after the two-time heavyweight champion was heavily criticised for prostrating for President Muhammadu Buhari- a gesture many thought was unnecessary.

Joshua had on Saturday, January 18, met with President Muhammadu Buhari and presented his heavyweight belts to him in a beautiful scene that sent delight into the hearts of Nigerians across the world.
