Kobe Bryant won five NBA titles with LA Lakers before untimely death

Kobe Bryant's untimely death brought lots of shock and agony to many people in the world in which some may never get over the pain of his death.

On Sunday, January 26, the basketball legend died in an helicopter crash near Los Angeles together with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna who also had a dream of becoming a great player like her father.

Their death also touched top football players in the world like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar, Gerard Pique, Thierry Henry and many who stormed social media to mourn Kobe Bryant.

Bryant played basketball for twenty years all spent at LA Lakers, and during his active playing days, he achieved some records which may never be broken.

Popularly nicknamed as the 'Black Mamba', Kobe Bryant entered the NBA directly from High school before he became world-famous star.

Below are some of his stunning record in basketball before he retired in 2016.

1. Two-time NBA finals Most Valuable Player (2009, 2010)

2. Five-time NBA champion (2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2010)

3. NBA Most Valuable Player in 2008

4. Scoring champion in two separate seasons in 2006 and 2007

5. Two-time Olympic Gold medal winner for the United States in 2008 and 2012

6. Four-time NBA All-Star Most Valuable Player in 2002, 2007, 2009 and 2011.

7. 18-time NBA All-Star in 18 consecutive seasons (1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016)

Even after retiring from basketball before death came, Kobe Bryant's personal records were fantastic.

He was the only player in NBA history to score at least 600 points in the postseason for three consecutive years - 633 (2008), 695 (2009), 671 (2010).

Bryant was also the Youngest Player to start an All-Star game when he was 19 years and 169 days.

Reigning Spanish champions Barcelona held a minute of silence before their training in respect for late Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh had reported how Lebron James finally paid tribute to LA Lakers legend Kobe Bryant after the unfortunate death of the basketball legend.

Kobe was on courtside when Lebron surpassed his 33,643 points during a game with Philadelphia Sixers. The basketball legend alongside eight others including his 13-year-old daughter perished in a helicopter crash.
