Akufo-Addo's ambulance saves accident victims few hours after commissioning

- One of the newly-commissioned ambulances has been captured saving the life of an accident victim

- It cannot be confirmed where exactly the incident happened but the ambulance had Sissala West Constituency boldly inscribed on it

Information reaching YEN.com.gh indicates that just a few hours after President Akufo-Addo commissioned the 307 ambulances, one of the vehicles was been captured saving the life of an accident victim.

In the video that has gone viral on social media, it could be seen as one the ambulances stops to attend to the casualty.

It cannot be confirmed where exactly the incident happened but the ambulance had Sissala West Constituency boldly inscribed on it.

A narrator in the video said a motor rider was hit by a vehicle, after which the ambulance swiftly arrived to treat the victim.

“An accident just occurred here [and] an ambulance is here to rescue the people…The motor rider got hit by a moving vehicle from the opposite side and the ambulance is already here to rescue them,” the anonymous man said.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) General Secretary, Dr. Justice Yankson, has described as unprecedented, the distribution of 307 ambulances to various communities to assist in quality health delivery.

Dr. Yankson lauded the government for the initiative saying that Ghana in its history has not recorded anything close to procuring even two hundred ambulances at a go.

“Generally speaking, in terms of the numbers and then even in terms of the operational scope and the way it is going to be managed, I think that this is a very big improvement over the years,” he said.
