Rex Omar wins GHS 200,000 court case against Joy Industries Limited

-Veteran Highlife singer Rex Omar has won a court case against Joy Industries Limited for using his song in an advert without his permission

- For winning the case, Rex Omar will receive GHS 200,000 by way of damages from Joy Industries Limited

Ghanaian veteran highlife artiste, Rex Omar has won a 5year legal battle against Joy Industries Limited for using his intellectual property without his permission.

For winning the case, Rex Omar will receive GHS 200,000 by way of damages from Joy Industries Limited. The court also awarded GHS 30,000 to the 'Papa' hitmaker.

On June 15, 2015, Rex Omar filed a suit against Joy Industries Limited for using parts of his “Dada Dida” song to promote and advertise their product, Joy Dadi Bitters’ without his consent.

In November, Rex Omar secured an interlocutory injunction restraining Joy Industries Limited from using his works.

The court further ordered that directors, officers, agents and servants of Joy Dadi Bitters should stop any electronic media from playing the commercial immediately, pending the final determination of the case.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Award-winning rapper Kofi Kinaata has caused a stir on social media with his latest photo he shared on social media.

Kinaata's photo has got all the ladies crushing on him with one begging him to marry her this year.

In a photo sighted by YEN.com.gh, Kofi Kinaata asked his fans what they expect from him this year.

The question and photo attached to it got his female fans drooling over him with one stating that she prays Kinaata will marry her this year.

"2020 is here.. Tell me what you expect from me this year... Hmmm?? #TeamMooove," the 'Things Fall Apart' hitmaker asked his fans
