Police picks up Boxer Patrick Allotey for assaulting a Kotoko fan

- Patrick Allotey, the professional boxer who beat up a Kotoko fan over the weekend has been arrested by the police

- He beat the football fan mercilessly leaving a deep cut around the left eye of the fan

- He was picked up the police yesterday and he is currently being interrogated for his actions

Ghanaian professional boxer Patrick Allotey has arrested by the police for assaulting a Kotoko supporter last weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium during a match between archrivals Hearts.

According to a report by footballghana.com Allotey's assault case was moved to the Police Headquarters and was arrested later yesterday.

He is currently in police custody waiting to be interrogated for assaulting the Kotoko fan.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Patrick Allotey had been captured on video beating up a football fan during the super clash between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko in Accra, on Sunday, January 26, 2020.

The WBO Africa Super welterweight champion in a viral video is seen beating an unidentified football fan which resulted in the victim suffering a cut under his left eye.

The boxer was infuriated by the fact that the fan who had blocked his view had refused to move.

An angry Allotey removed the headset he was wearing and began to beat the fan.

He delivered three quick stiff jabs to the face of the fan.

The unidentified fan suffered a deep cut under his eye and had to be stitched.

The viral video has angered many on social media who are demanding action from the Ghana Boxing Authority, the WBO and the police.

Allotey could lose his boxing license as part of sanctions from Ghana Boxing Authority and other global boxing organizations.
