Meet Larry Hoover the Black man serving 285-year jail term

A Black man from Mississipi named Larry Hoover is currently serving a 285-year jail term for his infamous crimes that he committed when he was younger.

According to Face2FaceAfrica.com, Larry was born in 1950 but grew up in Chicago after his family moved north when he was just a toddler.

The reports indicate that Larry ending up in jail serving such a huge sentence may be shocking but not entirely unexpected.

When he was only 13, Hoover was already on the streets with the Supreme Gangsters. Later in his teens, the notorious young man became instrumental in the Gangsters joining forces with another group headed by David Barksdale.

Together, this new gang was called the Black Gangster Disciple Nation, or Gangster Disciples for short. By the time he turned 20, Hoover was reportedly head of the Gangster Disciples and overseeing daily profits of about $1,000.

His first jail sentence came in 1973 over the murder of 19-year-old William Young. Hoover stood accused along with Andrew Howard, a fellow gang member.

The two gentlemen were sentenced to serve 150-200 years in jail, which was a total of six life sentences at the Stateville Correctional Center in Illinois.

During his time in prison, the smart man became liked by everyone as he developed a reputation for ensuring discipline in the facility and avoiding crime at all cost.

Little did many people know that Hoover was using 'good works' as a front for illegalities and worse, had been running his gang from inside prison.

Hoover was discovered and freshly sentenced according to new charges of extortion, money laundering, conspiracy and running an illegal enterprise. Now, he serves a 285-jail term.

Reports have it that the likes of Kanye West have been petitioning that his sentence is reduced but that has not happened yet.
