The alarming rate of insecurity in Nigeria has been a source of concern for many. As Nigerians continue to wait for a solution, popular clergyman Pastor Enoch Adeboye has joined Nigerians to call the government's attention to the situation.
Adeboye, who is the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), joined the members of his church in a prayer walk against insecurity in Nigeria.
He was donned in a green suit, which is the colour of the Nigerian flag. He had a placard with the inscription, "All souls are precious to God".

The cleric had directed his church members to participate in the prayer walk declared by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to address the spate of killings across Nigeria.
No fewer than 25,000 parishes of the church are expected to carry out this prayer walk nationwide.
The church is matching on and the gate of hell shall not prevail against it.

Reacting to this on social media, one Dr. Dípò Awójídé said more churches should have partnered with the RCCG.
"RCCG should have partnered with Living Faith, Catholic Church, Anglican Church and other megachurches in Nigeria. They should all have joined this nationwide protests against the senseless killings/massacre in Nigeria which the Federal Government has been unable to tackle," he wrote.
While the security agencies continue to try their best to secure lives and properties, some senators have demanded that President Muhammadu Buhari sack the nation’s service chiefs.

Meanwhile, a senator from the southeastern region called on Buhari to step down as president of the nation if he was not capable of handling the issue of security.
Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe who is the Senate minority leader made the demand on Wednesday, January 29, when the lawmakers were deliberating on a motion on national security challenges and the need to restructure Nigeria’s security system.

The PDP lawmaker during the debate said the president had done little to address the security challenges in Nigeria.
In other news, what could have turned out as a large-scale tragedy was on Sunday, February 2, averted after a bomber said to be at a Winners Chapel building in Kaduna was discovered and arrested by policemen.
Eyewitnesses at the church revealed that the suspect, whose identity is yet to be made known, was with Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in one of the toilets when he was detected by CCTV and exposed.
