Ghanaian highlife musician Dada KD has revealed that President Akufo-Addo gave him an amount of GHC7,000 after he campaigned for him in 2016.
He explained, however, that the money was not offered as payment for campaigning for Akufo-Addo, but rather, the president gave willingly.
According to Dada KD, he had visited the President with Kofi B when Akufo-Addo asked him if he needed anything.
There, Dada KD told the president that he needed money to shoot a video for a song he sang with Kofi B.
The president then ordered Eugene Arhin to give him the GHC7,000, Dada KD said.
This is contained in a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Classfmonline.com.
"I didn't go to Nana Akufo-Addo to say that ‘I've endorsed you so give me money.’ I went with Kofi B and he willingly asked us if we will need something small for the song we made.”
"I told him we want to do a video for the song and then he made Eugene Arhin give us a little money, not money that we were going to use to live our lives or buy a car. He gave us GHS7000 for our video,” Dada KD said.
Meanwhile, other celebrities who endorsed Akufo-Addo have cried foul and complained of neglect after the NPP came to power.
One of such persons is comic actor Agya Koo.
According to him, since NPP won power, he has not made any fortune from them as people claim.
In an earlier publication by YEN.com.gh, Agya Koo dared that if anyone in the NPP has given him anything, the person should say it.
