My HND certificate made all the difference - Wilfred Asuquo

- Wilfred Asuquo, a Nigerian data analyst in the US, has spoken on how he achieved all he did with his HND certificate

- Asuquo said the reason why he attended poly was that he could not afford the financial responsibility of attending a university

- The data analyst also said he became a pilot from where he started as a cabin crew member

Wilfred Asuquo, a Nigerian living in the US, has narrated how he was able to break the stigma that is commonly associated with Higher National Diploma (HND).

He said that he was able to graduate with an amazing 3.30/4.0 CGPA despite the fact that many took him for an unserious student because he was into school politics.

Asuquo said he had to go to a polytechnic because he could not afford the financial cost of attending a university, and not that he couldn’t get admission into one.

He even added that he had admission into three different universities for pharmacy, medicine, and pharmacology.

On commenting on the bias between an HND holder and a university graduate, he said no one should ever allow that stop them.

He said that if he could get what he has achieved, anybody also can irrespective of the odds.

Asuquo said he was able to break a career barrier without having to get a PGD as he became a trained commercial pilot.

He said from that, he moved up to being a business and data analyst. He, however, chipped it in that he got his masters through WES evaluation in the US.

"With my HND certificate without PGD or prerequisites, I have broken boundaries from being a cabin crew to being a trained commercial pilot then transitioned to being a business and data analyst. Remember, I got my MSC by just WES evaluation in the US. How I did it…..you can also do it," he said.
