Some Manchester United fans thought the club would announce the return of their former star Cristiano Ronaldo after his countryman Diogo Dalot replicate his Siii goal celebration.
The 35-year-old superstar left Old Trafford for Real Madrid in 2009 after winning his first-ever Champions League with the club.
He has however gone ahead to win four more in Spain to become the most successful player in the history of the European championship.
Nine years after joining Los Blancos, Ronaldo moved to Italy where he already clinched the Italian Serie A title.
With the Red Devils set to battle Chelsea in their match-day 26 Premier League clash next Monday, the Old Trafford outfit is currently is in Spain for fitness purposes.
The maiden winter break will also allow Bruno Fernandes to blend well into the team having joined the club from Sporting CP in January.
Meanwhile, the supporters believed the Red Devils would announce the return of their top star after the club posted a short clip of Dalot doing Ronaldo's celebration.
The 20-year-old did the celebration and later went ahead to embrace Juan Mata and Anthony Martial.
After the club posted the video, some of the club's fans personalised the message hoping that the Portuguese star would return 11 years after.
One fan wrote: "Ronaldo to United confirmed siuuuuu." While another added: "@Cristiano confirmed he’s coming back here we go."
A third, even more, optimistic United fan wrote: "Announce Ronaldo."
While other United fans want the former Real Madrid star to quit Juventus and return to Old Trafford.
They wrote: "@Cristiano come back after winning the 6th UCL for Juve. Please, will be amazing... United fans always love you."
While another fan added: "@Cristiano come back home," and a third supporter wrote: "We could do with @Cristiano back!!!!"
Ronaldo scored 118 goals and 69 assists in 292 appearances across all competitions during his six-year reign at Old Trafford.
