Smart lady makes her family proud; wins global entrepreneurship award for start-up

- Oluwadunsin Bolaji has made herself and her families proud less than a year after graduating from the Federal University of Technology Akure

- Bolaji won Global Student Entrepreneur Awards alongside five others

- The graduate of Biology says the award will spur her to attain more heights in her business

Less than a year after graduating from the Federal University of Technology Akure, Oluwadunsin Bolaji has won Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA).

The GSEA is the premier global competition for students who owned and operated a business while attending college or university.

It supports student entrepreneurs who require the much needed mentorship, recognition and connections to their business to the next level of success.

Oluwadunsin, who is a graduate of Biology, specialises in using Ankara fabrics to make products such as hand bags, back packs, accessories and note pads.

She was selected to participate alongside 14 other entrepreneurs out of 100 students who applied from universities all over Nigeria in the National Semi Final Competition that held at The Business School of Netherlands located at Ikeja Lagos.

Oluwadunsin was the only female entrepreneur selected for the competition. The students were given 10 minutes to pitch their businesses and convince the judges of the sustainability and capability of of solving societal problems with their ideas.

The top 5 winners including Bolaji were announced at the end of the competition.

According to Bolaji, the award will spur her to attain more heights in her business.

Despite being born into an economically disadvantaged family, Mavis Ayamdo Awinbota, combined a horse-like life with her books and a leadership role to earn results that placed her among a quarter of 6As the St Joseph Seminary at Asante Mampong produced in 2019.
