Police vow not to tolerate Menzgold demonstration again; say they have better things to do

- The Greater Accra Regional police command says it would not tolerate any sort of demonstrations from customers of Menzgold going forward

- The police said they are going to channel that effort to concentrate on combatting violent crimes in the capital

The Greater Accra Regional police command says it would not tolerate any sort of demonstrations from customers of Menzgold going forward.

The police said they are going to channel that effort to concentrate on combatting violent crimes in the capital.

This statement is in response to a request made by the Coalition of Aggrieved Customers of Menzgold Ghana requesting for permission to protest.

According to a report on Graphic Online, a statement signed by the Accra Regional Police Commander, DCOP Fredrick Adu Anim, tated reasons it cannot accept demonstrations.

"Grateful be informed that the command is concentrating on the fight against robbery and other violent crimes as we enter the threshold of the year, as a result, cannot accept any form of Demonstration, Picketing and Walk during this period.
"The command also wishes to remind you that you have already demonstrated on the same subject matter in less than six (6) month as such will not tolerate any further demonstration as other citizens must also have their interest served by the Police," the statement noted.

In other news, a member of the communication team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Stephen Atubiga, has called for the party's deputy organizer to resign.

He warned his party also not to allow its Deputy National Organizer Chief Biney to sit in any sensitive meeting the party holds.

Atubiga's warning follows news of the marriage arrangement between NPP's Afia Akoto and Chief Biney who is also the Deputy National Organizer of the NDC.
