Glynis Naa-Koshie Evans: Ghanaian lady born without feet now TA at top UK school

While most physically challenged persons allow social stereotypes, prejudice and barriers to limit their quality of life, some use these obstacles as stepping stones and Glynis Yolanda Naa-Koshie Evans is a thriving example.
Born 30 years ago, Glynis Evans is a British of Ghanaian descent with amniotic band syndrome, a rare condition that separates and entangles limbs or other parts of the fetus.
As a result, her feet, ankles and only one finger formed on her left hand during conception.
Nonetheless, Glynis Yolanda Naa-Koshie Evans continues to live beyond her condition: ''It’s important for women to get up and know there is nothing they can't do,'' she told swimming.org.

Ten years ago, she was completely a different person with low self-esteem and would’ve never shown her limbs on social media, but Glynis now owns her truth.
''I’m beautiful. I’ve got a message for the whole world to see and that’s exactly what I’m going to do,'' she said.
Glynis learned how to swim at the age of nine and in 2018, she rejoined the Redbridge Dippers, a group for accessible swimming that features people with a range of disabilities after she drifted away from the pool owing to a personal tragedy.
She also starred in an empowering TV commercial in This Girl Can which she disclosed impacted her life.
Glynis Evans is currently a teaching assistant at Goresbrook School in Dagenham, UK, imbibing knowledge and life skills into younger people.
Despite her condition, Glynis continues to inspire people especially persons living with disability by sharing some perspectives about how she has kept her head above the water despite her peculiar situation.
