Controversial Ghanaian musician, Shatta Wale, has attacked Charterhouse with a new song he released.
Titled The Ban, Shatta Wale sang of how partial and dubious the organisers of the VGMA are.
He sang part of the song in the Ga language, which translates literally: “They are taking money from Ghanaians in the name of voting which is all scam”.
Shatta Wale again sang that if the organisers think he is mad, then he, together with them all need to be at Pantang hospital.
“We all be mad, we all be mad, we go go Pantang,” Shatta Wale is heard screaming in the song.
He added that he would not blame Charterhouse because some of his own colleagues were “hypocritically” supporting them.
Many people have thrown their weight behind Shatta Wale.
Prempeh, for instance, pledged support for Shatta Wale:
prempehe_gh: “We dey back 24/7”
Suarez praised Shatta Wale:
gamesuarez: “Champion wale u be too much.”
Eddy observed that God has blessed Shatta Wale:
eddy_starboy: “God bless me like he's blessed u Boss .”
Jemima and Jackline are also not leaving Shatta Wale:
jemima_valdez_akosua: “SM for life❤️❤️❤️.”J
jackline_mensah: “We dey ur back gidigidi❤️❤️.”
There are many more comments showing how displeased Ghanaians are with Charterhouse.
The release of the song follows the ongoing debate on social media as to whether Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy should be added to the 2020 award scheme.
The two were banned last year because they fought at the event with Stonebwoy pulling a gun on stage.
While many people believe the awards won’t be interesting without the two music giants, Shatta Wale has warned Charterhouse not to even mention his name.
Stonebwoy, on the other hand, has registered his displeasure at Charterhouse.
