GES Director mysteriously dies a day after taking over from interdicted predecessor

- The Wa Municipal Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Theresa Ninang Sung-Abo is reported dead

The Wa Municipal Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Theresa Ninang Sung-Abo, is reported to have passed away a few hours after occupying that position.

According to a ClassFM report, she was announced as the acting director of the Wa education directorate on Thursday, 13 February 2020 .

Miss Sung-Abo was the interim Regional Director following the interdiction of the substantive Regional Director, Mr Duncan Nsor, for acts of corruption

Nsor was interdicted by the Ghana Education Service (GES) for misconduct while investigations are conducted into his action.

He is alleged to have engaged in acts of corruption.

Nsor was asked to step aside for investigations into allegations of bribery in the appointment of heads of some second-cycle schools in the region.

In other news, former president John Dramani Mahama has stated that in case of any violence during and after the 2020 general elections, the Electoral Commission is to be blamed.

According to Mahama the conduct of the Electoral Commission's uncompromising attitude towards the elections could be a possible recipe for disaster.

He made these comments in relation to the EC's insistence of conducting new voters' register for the 2020 general elections when fisherfolks paid him a courtesy call.
