Love always happens irrespective of age. This was what happened to Nwobi Nwakota and Mr Okeke who got married in their old age.

In an interview with the BBC where the couple shared their love story, the woman said wanting to marry a Catholic made her wait that long.

Nwobi said that only Anglican men were approaching her until Okeke came along. She added that even in her old age, she never doubted about getting married.

“I have never been married before. I’m filled with joy… The reason why I’ve never married before is that I told God I only want to marry a Catholic but the only suitors that came my way were Anglicans,” she said.

Her husband, on the other hand, said he accepted her with his whole heart, saying he needed someone to complete him.

Okeke said that someone from her family linked them up and that made it easier for him in making the marriage happen. He added that with the marriage, he is totally complete.

Nwobi also advised young girls in search of a lasting relationship to be patient.

“My advice to young girls looking for a partner is that they should be patient,” she said as the husband added, “They should remain cool-headed and try not to jump in and out of relationships.”

On child-bearing, she said that though many think she is way passed the childbearing age, she still wants a child.
