Paramount Chief of the Nyagbo Traditional Area in the Oti Region, Torgbui Ashui Nyagasi V, has underscored the need for Ghanaians to give President Akufo-Addo another term.

According to him, Akufo-Addo's excellence in governance and gains made in his first term should be enough reason for Ghanaians to give him a nod for the second time.

He made this known at a durbar of the chiefs and people of Nyagbo to welcome the president as part of his three-day tour of the Volta and Oti regions.

"We wish to congratulate you for the excellent manner you are governing this dear country of ours, it is our hope that with your vision and the gains made in your first term, Ghanaians may consider giving you another four years," he stated.

Torgbui Nyagasi also beseeched the president to make sure the forthcoming election would be peaceful.

Torgbui Nyagasi courted President Akufo-Addo on the tourism potential of the area which he said was embedded in several natural wonders.

He said the district had waterfalls, ancestral caves, a monkey sanctuary among other sites that could be developed to generate more revenue for the country.

In other news, Minister for Local Government, Hajia Alima Mahama, has joined the many lawmakers to add their voice to fight illegal small scale mining.

She is calling for public support and commitment towards the fight against illegal small-scale mining and the preservation of the country’s water bodies.

According to a report filed by CitiNews, the minister said that the issue of stopping galamsey activities from polluting water bodies required a collaborated effort devoid of politics.
